2022 Editing Portfolio

My name is Morgan McClure and I am the Social Media Coordinator as well as a Senior Writer at the Poudre Press. From the beginning of the semester until now, I have grown not only as a writer, but also with my photography skills, social media managing skills, editing, and much more. My time at the Poudre Press has been nothing short of rewarding and it has helped me gain so many abilities and given me many amazing opportunities.

My Previous Work

This was my first article that I ever wrote for the Poudre Press. It is a piece that I believe still represents what I stand for but it may not be the best of my work.

This article could have been better but I think the content was decent and the photo in it was one of my better photos that I have taken.

My Current Work

This article is one that I find very important and the content of it speaks to topics that I believe and stand for. This article has lots of good content and is formatted in a nice way.

This article is full of information that relates to every person on this earth. The information came from very reliable sources and there are quite a few good quotes as well.

This is one of my best video interviews that I did. It had the best format as well as the best intro and outro.

Aspects I Have Improved In

There are many aspects of journalism that I have improved in throughout the semester. I started out not having much experience in writing articles and videography but my skills have since improved a great deal. I have gotten better at taking videos and editing them, as well as formatting my articles properly. I have also gotten much better at taking photos, whether it be for my articles or for staff photos and much more. When it comes to being a Social Media Manager, I have gotten much better at figuring out how I will get the best reach on certain platforms and how to format the descriptions.

My Proudest Pieces

This article is one of my favorites because I feel like it made one of the biggest impacts out of all of my articles. In this article I talked about a topic that is a little touchy but needs to be heard.

Overall

Being the in Poudre Press has made me become a much better writers while also helping me learn many new skills. It has been an amazing experience and I have been given many opportunities for growth and being set up for success. To anyone that is thinking of taking a journalism class or being a part of the Poudre Press, I highly recommend it. This experience has been very rewarding and I can't wait for the new opportunities to come.
