You may be wondering what the name of this blog means, and it is truly special. The word "watashiato" is a word from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, which is an absolutely amazing project that creates words for very specific things. Watashiato means, "curiosity about the impact you’ve had on the lives of the people you know, wondering which of your harmless actions or long-forgotten words might have altered the plot of their stories in ways you’ll never get to see". This definition is straight from The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows and I believe that it is such a powerful word. I thought this word fit perfectly because this page was created to share peoples' stories and how others have impacted their lives through words or actions. Many people don't realize the impact that they have on their peers and they also don't realize that many people have had similar experiences. I want people to be able to share these words and to realize that they are not alone in this world.
